The Business and Daily Life of Dereliction

These photographs, taken from Thomas Dryden Kelsey's The Business and Daily Life of Dereliction were captured on and around West Hull's Hessle Road, an area once famous for it's thriving fishing industry community.

Hessle Road was hit hard by Britain's industrial advancement, missing out on monetary replenishments that were awarded to more accessible areas elsewhere in the UK. Kelsey's photographs document the effects this decline has had on Hessle Road and its residents, who are forced to live in the shadow of the area's more prosperous times.
