Each person is attracted to his or her surroundings differently. After doing research on the part of the human brain that influences how we perceive the world I came across a theory on the subconscious. It states that instead of the subconscious acting as another part of ourselves it is actually an entirely different entity inside of us. This presence is a constant companion influencing every aspect of our waking selves, including what we see.

Through photography I am questioning my surroundings and what parts of it are real and fake. I’m also interested in the presence objects take up around us. The mundane is given a new life as plants become fingers reaching through curtains and artificial landscapes cause me to question my surroundings
