Photographed in over 18 European countries, Charles Freger’s Wilder Mann documents a search for mythological figures and traditions still ripe within today's society.

Inspired by mythical beasts within folklore, 'Wild Men' costumes are worn at various points throughout the year, depending on their proposed purpose. It's these elaborate costumes that Freger has chosen to capture here, photographing them within their natural habitats, ultimately exploring human fascination with costume, myth and rituals.

Here, TRIP have selected their favourite photographs from the series.
